AUSTIN, TEXAS – May 7, 2013 – Topgolf, Austin’s newest golf entertainment complex in The Domain, is now open for business. Yesterday more than 1,000 people walked the red carpet to attend the long-anticipated grand opening celebration for the company’s ninth location worldwide.

 The event’s star-studded guest list included former NBA star Robert Horry, beloved University of Texas mascot Bevo, UT golf coach John Fields, country music star Jason Aldean, and Sen. Ken Armbrister, who serves as Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s Director of Legislative Affairs. Entertainment was provided by DJ Don Vaughn, Cosmopolitan’s “Bachelor of the Year” in Texas. Also among the guests were the first 50 Austin residents to purchase a Topgolf membership; each received invitations to the party with five guests.

“My son and I have had some heated competition while playing at Topgolf in Houston,” said Robert Horry. “I was excited to check out the new Austin location, and it didn’t disappoint. The energy at the party was very high. It was especially fun seeing people try TopGolf for the first time. By the end of the night, I think everyone realized that you don’t have to be a golf pro to have fun at Topgolf.”

Topgolf, now Austin’s largest sports bar, modernizes the traditional driving range experience with six competitive games and advanced technology to track every player’s shots. The three-level, 65,000-square-foot facility, took nine months to construct. The company expects to welcome more than 350,000 visitors during its first year of operation.
