Topgolf, Heroes Project Join Forces to Serve Veterans in Need

Sep 16, 2013
Dallas-based Topgolf and Heroes Project announce long-term partnership agreement

DALLAS – Sept. 16, 2013 – Golf entertainment leader Topgolf and military charity Heroes Project are teaming up to raise funds and awareness for veterans in need. As part of the new partnership, golf lessons and activities will be incorporated into Heroes Project veterans’ recovery.

Heroes Project provides free, in-home fitness equipment, health club memberships, personal training and life coaching to in-need veterans, Gold Star families and those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Topgolf is the only entertainment center of its kind, offering competitive golfing games for all ages and skill levels and advanced technology to track every player’s shots.

“Supporting our veterans is a cause that resonates strongly with Topgolf’s associates and guests; in fact, many of our associates are veterans themselves,” said Topgolf CEO Tom Leverton. “Topgolf also strives to promote an active lifestyle, so the health and fitness component of Heroes Project aligns well with our brand.”

Earlier this year, Topgolf re-launched its Hero discounts program, available to active-duty military, fire, police and emergency medical services personnel. Hero discounts offer 20 percent off Golf and Platinum memberships and 10 percent off Topgolf play pricing.

Topgolf will host its first Heroes Project fundraiser on Oct. 10 at its Allen facility. The evening will feature food, drinks, live entertainment, a silent auction and Topgolf competition. For details, visit heroesproject.org. Later in the month, Topgolf associates and Heroes Project veterans will team up to participate in the Tough Mudder benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. In addition, throughout the duration of the partnership, Heroes Project will receive marketing, hospitality, volunteer and financial support from Topgolf.

“We’re honored that Topgolf has chosen Heroes Project as its official national charity partner,” said Cheramie Law, executive director for Heroes Project. “Our mission is to help combat veterans get physically and mentally back on track, and Topgolf’s partnership is a perfect match to help us achieve this goal.”

About Heroes Project
Heroes Project provides free in-home fitness equipment, facilitation of donated health club memberships, individualized programs, personal training and life coaching to in-need veterans with disabilities, Gold Star families and those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Founded in 2011, Heroes Project is the vision of FITCO CEO Jason Kos and U.S. Navy Seal Team 3 Chief Chris Kyle, who believed in helping those soldiers who sacrificed much in service to our country and are still struggling with the aftermath of their duty. The organization continues its mission to support each combat veteran through personal support, family outreach and experiential therapy.
